Biography

Mark Chen is an epidemiologist working in the area of communicable diseases surveillance, at the National Public Health and Epidemiology Unit and the Infectious Diseases Research and Training Office in the National Centre for Infectious Diseases Singapore. He was involved in investigations into the outbreak of SARS in Singapore in 2003, and subsequently performed work and research in the areas of infectious disease surveillance as well as seasonal and pandemic influenza. Since January 2020, he has been working almost exclusively on COVID-19 projects, focusing on methodologies for and sources of data for COVID-19 surveillance.
