Mark Shapiro
Biography
Mark Shapiro is an emergency management and preparedness specialist with more than 15 years’ experience in emergency response operations, training and operational readiness, supporting governments, WHO, WFP and international partners. He designs, facilitates and leads simulation exercises (SimEx) and action and after-action reviews (AARs) at global, regional and national levels. His experience includes global and regional health emergency simulations for health ministers, WHO IHR exercises, and EOC and IMS-focused exercises, alongside operational response to major emergencies. Since 2013, he has designed and delivered SimEx and facilitator training for governments, WFP, IASC, WHO and Lund University, and integrated AAR methodologies across both SimEx and emergency operations.
