Mark Shapiro

Mark Shapiro is an emergency management specialist with more than 15 years’ experience supporting governments, WHO, UN agencies and partners in emergency preparedness, response and operational readiness. He designs, facilitates and leads simulation exercises (SimEx) and after-action reviews (AARs) at national, regional and global levels. He has designed and delivered SimEx and facilitator training for WHO, WFP, IASC, governments and universities. Most recently, he served as Regional EOC Manager for the WHO European Region, with operational experience across outbreaks, pandemics, conflicts and disasters.
