Matthew D. Charnetski

Biography

Matthew D. Charnetski is a health-care simulation leader and educator whose career has carried him from central Iowa, USA, to Antarctica, Kazakhstan, and to New Hampshire, USA. As Director of SBERI at Dartmouth Health and president-elect of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, he designs simulation programs that cross borders and cultures. A critical care paramedic and disaster-response veteran, he has advised ministries of health on emergency medical reform and helped shape global standards for simulation practice. His doctoral research at Maastricht University asks how culture and context shape learning. He believes every environment, however austere, can teach and can be prepared for.
