Dr Meera Chand

Biography

Dr Meera Chand is a physician and microbiologist with a specialist interest in respiratory infection and high consequence infectious diseases, working at the UK Health Security Agency and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, London. 

During the pandemic she has worked as national COVID-19 incident director for Public Health England and the UK Health Security Agency. She also leads the SARS-CoV-2 genomic analysis service for the national public health response and the UK SARS-CoV-2 variants technical programme, which undertakes epidemiology, genomics, virology and modelling assessments to monitor changes in the virus.
