Megan Collins
Biography
Megan E. Collins, MD, MPH, is the Allan and Claire Jensen Professor of Ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. As a pediatric ophthalmologist and adult strabismus specialist, Dr Collins manages the clinical and surgical treatment of pediatric eye disease and adult strabismus. She holds faculty appointments at Johns Hopkins’ Berman Institute of Bioethics, Bloomberg School of Public Health, and School of Education.
Dr Collins completed medical school and ophthalmology residency training at University of Chicago and fellowship at University of Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children. She received her MPH from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Dr Collins’ research focuses on the epidemiology of pediatric eye disease and refractive error, barriers to eye care access, and novel health delivery models, such as school-based vision programs. Dr Collins holds leadership positions on committees within the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus. She leads Vision for Baltimore, a district-wide school-based vision program in Baltimore, Maryland, USA and directs the Johns Hopkins Center for School Health.
