Professor Mei Zeng

Paediatric infectious diseases specialist, Fudan University, China

Biography

Dr Mei Zeng is a professor and senior consultant of pediatric infectious diseases and she has 30 years of experience and expertise in management and clinical research of pediatric infectious diseases.

Dr Zeng is the Vice Director, Department of Infectious Diseases, Children’s Hospital of Fudan University, National Children’s Medical Center, as well as Chair of the Pediatric Subgroup of China Society of Infectious Diseases of Chinese Medical Association and Chair of the Infection Group, Pediatric Expert Committee of National Health Commission Capacity Building and Continuing Education. She is a Member of the National Immunization Technical Working Group and the Expert Committee on Children Medicine of National Health Commission of China.

Dr Zeng was educated at Fudan University in Shanghai, China, where she obtained degrees in MD, PhD, as well as certification of senior specialist in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases. Dr Zeng’s major areas of interest focus on the epidemiological studies of childhood infectious diseases and vaccine-preventable diseases, antibiotic stewardship, and vaccine-related issues.

Since 2017, Dr Zeng joined the WHO EML Antibiotic Working Group and was nominated to the Member of 21st-23rd WHO expert committee on Essential Medicine Selection and Use.
