Professor Milica Bajčetić
Biography
Milica Bajčetić is a Professor of Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade and MD, PhD, specialist in Clinical Pharmacology at the University Children's Hospital in Belgrade.
She is the Deputy President of the National Multisectoral Coordination Group on Antimicrobial Resistance Control of the Government of Serbia (One Health approach) and President of the Republic Expert Committee for Hospital-Acquired Infections of the Ministry of Health of Serbia. She is a co-author of the National Guidelines for Rational Antibiotic Use.
Professor Bajčetić is the national focal point for the WHO Antimicrobial Medicines Consumption network and has actively promoted the implementation of the AWaRe classification in clinical practice and antibiotic data analysis among health professionals in Serbia and the Balkan Region. In addition, she introduced the AWaRe classification into the teaching programs at the University of Belgrade and provided scientific contribution publishing numerous publications in leading journals, including The Lancet and Lancet Infectious Diseases.
She has been involved in a wide range of educational activities for medical professionals in Serbia, the Balkan region, and worldwide in cooperation with the professional associations. Professor Bajčetić’s work highlights her dedication to improving antimicrobial stewardship and promoting evidence-based practices globally.
