Unit Head, Planning, Analysis and Risk Management


Before joining GTB, Mr Michael McCullough has had a varied career in global public health programme management and public health administration spanning more than 20 years within WHO.  The career path initially started in the Special Programme on Tropical Disease Research, followed by the HIV Department, the Director General’s Office,  the Regional office of South-East Asia, and finally the area of work Family Women and Children’s Health.

The Programme Manager role is responsible for the coordination of strategic planning, finance/budget, Human Resources and administration services and related activities for the Global TB Programme (GTB), including the development, monitoring and reporting on the Programme budget and related financial matters.  Coordination of activities in support of resource mobilization and related reporting and providing advice and guidance on the allocation of human and financial resources to meet GTB work plans and objectives, are key elements of the function.

Mr Michael McCullough has a varied academic history, having an initial Bachelor’s degree in Geology (Edinburgh university), with subsequently three Master’s degrees in Environmental Engineering (Leeds university), Business Administration (Bradford university), and finally in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (London university).
