Head of Port Health-Tema Port

Mr Raphael John Marfo worked in the past as Head of Port Health-Kotoka International Airport, Head/Coordinator of Port Health-Volta Regional Health Directorate and Ag Head of Port Health-Ghana Health Service,

He was involved as consultant in support response to Corona Virus outbreak at the Point of Entry in Ethiopia. He participated also as consultant/facilitator in the following missions: Regional Training on Public Health Events Management on Ships in WHO/AFRO-Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, ICAO Annexes and WHO International Health Regulations (2005) Core Capacities Training-Johannesburg, South Africa, Regional Training of Trainers on Public Health Events Management in Air Transport-Harare, Zimbabwe, Regional Training of Trainers in the Management of Public Health Events in Air Transport, in the WHO AFRO Region- Accra, Ghana, WHO’s IHR/JEE Meeting in Banjul- Gambia,

Management of Public Health Events in Air Transport; Aircraft/Airport Inspection and Sanitation Training-Accra, Ghana, CAPSCA visit to the Kotoka International Airport, Accra, Ghana. He did an Internship at the Hamburg Port Health Center Germany on Ship Sanitation; Health, Safety and Aircraft Sanitation; and the Implementation of the International Health Regulation 2005.

Mr Raphael John Marfo contributed to elaboration of the Handbook for Public Health Capacity-Building at Ground Crossings and Cross-Border collaboration by WHO and the Handbook for Management of Public Health events on board ships by WHO.

Mr Raphael John Marfo has a Diploma in Health Systems Management from GIMI Isreal;

MA – Environmental Management & Policy-from UC, Ghana, PGD in Organization from UCC, Ghana, ‘DCS from Ghana Institute of Journalism, Accra, Ghana, ‘DPHS from School of Hygiene, Accra Ghana.
