Ms Mengji Chen

Ms. Mengji Chen is the technical lead for Research, Ethics and Innovation in the WHO Regional office for Western Pacific. Her current work is focused on providing support to Member States in strengthening research ecosystem for health, and establishing regional public goods for responsible use of AI.

Over the past 13 years, Mengji has worked extensively on health innovation, data analytics, community engagement in diverse settings in the United States and India. Before joining WHO, Ms. Chen co-founded a predictive data analytics startup and held leadership positions in digital health startups in China.

Ms. Chen has a master's degree in health science from Brandeis University and bachelor's degree in Journalism and Communications from Tsinghua University.
