Mr Mulugeta Mideksa Amene

Biography

Mr Mulugeta Mideksa Amene is a biomedical engineer based in Ethiopia who currently serves as a technical advisor to the Clinton Health Access Initiative. Over the last two decades, he has taken on several advisory and consultancy roles with the Ethiopian Federal Ministry of Health, the WHO African Regional Office, UNICEF, and the German Agency for International Cooperation, primarily focusing on oxygen systems and related medical devices. In his positions, he played a crucial role in implementing health technology management programs in Ethiopia, facilitating access to medical devices through local production and technology transfer initiatives and developing several national and international medical device training manuals, videos, guidelines as well as the Ethiopian Medical Oxygen and Pulse Oximetry Scale Up Road Map. He also served as the founder and former president of the biomedical engineering professional association in Ethiopia.

He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Adama University, Ethiopia, a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. He is currently a PhD candidate in leadership and management at Gelila International College in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
