Professor Nataliya Nizova

Biography

For more than 20 years, Nataliya Nizova has been an expert on EECA countries in the framework of the WHO, UNICEF, USAID, Global Fund and PEPFAR programs. During academic career in Ukraine, she reached the position of Vice-Rector of Odessa National Medical University and visiting professor at the School of Public Health of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.

She established the NGO “Woman. Health. Longevity”, which worked to ensure access to HIV and TB services for key vulnerable groups and women, and also provided PMTCT services to women in prisons. Since 2009, she has focused her experience on strengthening government leadership in the fight against HIV, tuberculosis and hepatitis in Ukraine.

She held the position of Director of the Ukrainian Center for the Social Dangerous Diseases Control (2012-2016), then played a key role in the creation of the National Center for Public Health and was elected the first General Director (2016-2017). From 2009 to 2017, she was a member of the National Coordination Council of Ukraine for the fight against tuberculosis and HIV.
