Niniola Williams
Biography
Niniola Williams is a public health professional with over 14 years of experience leading programs, initiatives, and teams to improve the health of individuals and communities.
Niniola currently leads Dr Ameyo Stella Adadevoh (DRASA) Health Trust, a public health organization developing a network of Health Champions to prevent illness and protect health by mainstreaming community participation, enhancing institutional capacity, and informing public policies in Nigeria. DRASA, which was founded in memory of Niniola’s aunt who prevented a major epidemic by diagnosing and containing Nigeria's first case of Ebola, is addressing health system gaps while honoring Dr. Adadevoh’s legacy of protecting public health.
Niniola supports integrated interventions and conducts advocacy to reduce Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) across the human, animal, and environmental health sectors. She holds a bachelor’s degree in cognitive science and neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania and an MSc in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She is also certified in AMR and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC).
Niniola is active in AMR governance, stewardship, education and awareness in Nigeria and passionate about reducing the burden of AMR and infectious diseases through interdisciplinary approaches
