Dr Ping Shen
Biography
Ping Shen leads the Organic Chemistry Branch at Singapore Food Agency's National Centre for Food Science (SFA), a role central to food safety monitoring, food forensics, and risk assessment initiatives. With extensive experience in food safety surveillance, data analysis, and regulatory standard-setting, Ping Shen evaluates the safety of food components and contaminants to safeguard public health. Her expertise spans chemical risk assessment, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and advanced analysis of a wide array of food borne contaminants, including veterinary drug residues, pesticides, toxins, and environmental contaminants. As an invited member of the WHO Technical Advisory Group on Risk-Benefit Assessment (TAG-RBA), Ping Shen is committed to providing critical scientific advice that informs optimal food intake guidelines, integrating complex risk-benefit considerations to enhance global public health strategies.
