Professor Amel Fayed
Biography
Professor Amel Fayed is a Professor of Public health at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University with a subspeciality in Biostatistics. She was granted her medical degree and received a master's and PhD from the High Institute of Public Health from Alexandria University, Egypt. Being one of the principal investigators of the Riyadh Mother and Baby Multicenter Cohort Study (RAHMA), she and her team investigated more than 14,000 women with their children, creating one of the most comprehensive databases about pregnancy outcomes in Saudi Arabia. Professor Fayed has more than 70 peer-reviewed publications that were cited more than 1400 times; she has exceptional expertise in evidence-based research and published many systematic reviews. She also received the awards of “Excellency in Research” from Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University in 2018 and 2020. Prior to joining the GWG-TAG, Professor Fayed was the chair of Institutional Review Board at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University.
