Professor Guojing Yang

Professor Guojing Yang is Dean of the School of Public Health, Hainan Medical University, China. She serves as Editor-in-Chief of Acta Tropica and is an Honorary Fellow at the University of Edinburgh and Khon Kaon University. 

She earned her PhD in Public Health & Epidemiology from the University of Basel (2006). After posts in Australia and Hong Kong, she worked at the Swiss TPH (2015–2020) before joining Hainan Medical University in 2020. Her research focuses on the epidemiology of tropical diseases with rich experiences in the fields of spatio-temporal epidemiology, dynamic modeling of infectious diseases, data mining, machine learning, optimization of control strategies. 

Professor Yang has published over 40 SCI papers as first/corresponding author in top journals such as BMJ and Lancet Infectious Diseases (h-index: 40). She leads four NSFC projects, three WHO/TDR grants, and contributes to national key R&D programs.
