Biography

Joan Costa-Font is Professor of Health Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Professor Costa-Font is Team Leader of the Ageing and Behavioural Incentive Lab and an Affiliate of the International Inequalities Institute. Professor Costa-Font’s areas of expertise include health behaviours, vaccination, long-term care, ageing, and health care use. Professor Costa-Font has Bachelor’s degrees in Politics and Sociology, Law, and Economics; Master’s degrees in Economics and International Health Policy; and a PhD in Economics. Professor Costa-Font’s previous experience includes working as a Consultant for WHO and the World Bank. Professor Costa-Font received the Brian Abel Smith Award in 2000, a Marie Curie Fellowship in 2001-2003, and a Harkness Fellowship in 2012.
