Professor Moses John Bockarie
Biography
Professor Moses J. Bockarie is an expert in NTDs with more than three decades of experience in research, advocacy, and capacity building. He obtained his MSc and PhD from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, UK (LSTM), where his research focused on malaria and NTDs in West Africa. He currently serves as Adjunct Professor in the School of Medical Sciences at Njala University, Sierra Leone. From 2016 to 2023 he was Regional Director for Africa at the European & Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership, based in South Africa. Previously, he was Professor of Tropical Health Sciences and Director of the Centre for NTDs at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM). He has authored more than 250 peer-reviewed publications and has visited over 60 countries supporting NTD research and control programmes. In recognition of his contributions to tropical medicine, he received the Donald Mackay Medal from the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene in 2016.
