Biography

Dr. Samia A. Abdul-Rahman, a professor of Geriatrics and Gerontology. Works in the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University in Egypt. She has concurrently worked as a professor at the Family Medicine department for postgraduate students. This is joined with clinical expertise working at both the inpatient wards and outpatient clinics of Ain Shams University.

Regarding NGOs, she is a founding and active member of the Medical Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology since 2014. Among its important activities, is the arrangement of the Mobile Geriatric Hospital and formal caregiver training courses for elderly and patients with Alzheimer's disease and dementia. She has worked in the monthly support group meetings and Alzheimer's Café activities of Egypt Alzheimer's Society from 2008 to 2015.

Her research focuses mainly on geriatric syndromes as frailty, osteoporosis, and dementia as well as validation of assessment tools suitable for the Arabic speaking countries. Dr. Abdul-Rahman has also participated as an author for books that are dedicated to training formal and informal caregivers.
