Professor Sung Hee Choi
Biography
Sung Hee Choi, MD, PhD is now a chief professor in the division of Endocrinology & Metabolism, Internal Medicine, and Seoul National University Bundang Hospital. She is a director of international health care center in SNUBH. As a famous endocrinologist, she wrote more than 260 peer-reviewed SCI articles in the field of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, also in biomarkers by multi-omics, and translational research. In many international conferences, she has been invited as a speaker and delivered key note lectures.
Her main research topic is the discovery of biomarkers by fat tissue and blood analysis in patients with diabetes, obesity, and atherosclerosis. She had co-professorship in the post-graduate school, department of translational medicine in SNU college of medicine. Many recent clinical trials were done in her clinical-research team in the field of new treatment of diabetes mellitus and lipid lowering drugs. She did special training for carotid US imaging in Germany (Schwabinger Krankenhaus, Munchen) and translational research in lipid metabolism in USA (Columbia University Medical Center, NYC, NY). She was a laureate of excellent research award from Korean Endocrine Society (2015).
Including Korean Diabetes Association, she has been in charge of international liaison doing a lot of collaboration with international diabetes-societies.
