Biography

Rachel Albone is a long-term consultant in the Ageing and Health Unit at WHO, working full time in the team since 2021. She leads on stakeholder engagement, with a focus on collaboration with civil society partners in the areas of long-term care and integrated care. She was a lead author of the ICOPE Ready Phase Report, published in 2022, and is leading on the production of the first progress report for the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing, to be launched in 2023. 

Rachel has over15 years' experience in global health, primarily focused on ageing. Before joining WHO, she worked in the NGO sector, focused on health, care and HIV policy influencing, programmes and research in relation to older people. She has also worked with donors and other UN agencies.
