Biography

Rayner Kay Jin Tan is Assistant Professor at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore, and holds a joint appointment with the Centre for Behavioural and Implementation Science Interventions at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.

He is an implementation scientist and applied social scientist whose work focuses on sexual health, HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), mental health, LGBTQ+ health, and person-centred approaches to prevention and care.

His research emphasizes community engagement, health equity, and the development and evaluation of interventions for underserved and vulnerable populations. He co-leads The Courage Lab, a research community focused on integrating lived experience into public health research and practice.

He serves in several international scientific and editorial leadership roles, including with the International AIDS Society and the International Union against Sexually Transmitted Infections (IUSTI), and is an editor for multiple journals in HIV, sexual health, and implementation science.
