Richard Siggers

Assistant Professor of Research at the University of Pittsburgh in the Pediatric Department of the Children’s Hospital

Biography

Dr. Richard Siggers received his MSc from the University of Saskatchewan,  his PhD from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and accepted a position as an Assistant Professor of Research at the University of Pittsburgh in the Pediatric Department of the Children’s Hospital. 

In 2011, Dr. Siggers joined Health Canada’s Vaccine Quality Divisions as a regulatory scientific evaluator. Within this role, Dr. Siggers is responsible for the pre- and post market quality evaluation of vaccine submissions and is involved in the supervision of Vaccine Lot Release laboratory functions. 

Dr. Siggers has played a key role in Health Canada’s strategy to regulate the use of bacteriophage as human therapeutics, and actively participates as a Certified Global Evaluator associated with the WHO Global Benchmarking Tool (GBT) for evaluation of national regulatory systems.
