Mr Richard Duncan

Biography

Mr Richard John William Duncan is Coordinator for the Vaccine-Preventable Diseases and Immunization unit at the WHO Regional Office for the Western Pacific.

Mr Duncan is an Australian public health professional with over 25 years of experience in immunization, vaccine policy and global health programmes, with extensive work across the Western Pacific and other regions. He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) from the University of Sydney and a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (Distinction) from James Cook University.

Mr Duncan has served in senior leadership roles with UNICEF in New York, the Middle East and South Asia, including as Senior Advisor on Immunization Equity and Senior Manager for the Global Polio Eradication Programme Regional Hub. His career also includes extensive work with the World Health Organization supporting immunization programme strengthening at the country level across the Western Pacific, Papua New Guinea, South-East Asia and the South Pacific.
