Rodrigo Gobbo Garcia

Biography

Dr Rodrigo Gobbo Garcia is a Brazilian physician specializing in medical imaging, interventional radiology, and interventional oncology, with broad expertise in developing and implementing minimally invasive medical technologies. He leads the Center of Interventional Medicine and Interventional Oncology at Einstein – Hospital Israelita in São Paulo and is Director of Interventional Oncology at SOBRICE.

He earned his medical degree and completed residency at the University of São Paulo, followed by a research fellowship in interventional oncology at Harvard Medical School / Massachusetts General Hospital. He holds a PhD with honors on the cost-effectiveness of minimally invasive renal cancer treatments and an MBA in hospital operational efficiency.

Dr Gobbo Garcia has held leadership roles in public and private healthcare, completed advanced leadership programs and serves on the Latin American Council of IASIOS and as Foreign Correspondent Member of CIRSE. He contributed to Brazilian device safety guidelines for low-resource settings and to global medical device initiatives.

He has presented at numerous international conferences on image-guided therapies and health technology evaluation, and authored over 70 peer-reviewed articles on image-guided procedures and the cost-effectiveness of oncologic interventions.
