Dr Runa Jha
Biography
Dr. Runa Jha was awarded an MD in Pathology from the Institute of Medicine, Tribhuwan University Teaching Hospital, Nepal in 2005. She worked as a faculty in the same institute until 2015 after which she left the university job and joined the Ministry of Health and Population as chief consultant pathologist. Since then she has spent most of her term at the National Public Health Laboratory of Nepal where she is director now. She is also president of the Association of Clinical Pathologists of Nepal. She has a broad range of experience in pathology, including working with patient specimens in clinical and anatomic pathology laboratories, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, laboratory management, laboratory-based surveillance, and laboratory response to public health crises. Along with Oncopathology and hematopathology, health system strengthening and quality improvement in health care are her areas of interest.
