Biography

Sanne Sigh has committed her career to saving and improving the lives of women and young children vulnerable to malnutrition, especially in the form of child wasting and growth faltering. Sanne has been working in nutrition and development in South East Asia for the past eight years. During that time, she conducted PhD research on the acceptability and effectiveness of a locally produced fish-based ready-to-use therapeutic food for treating 6-59-month-old children with severe acute malnutrition. Sanne has both the theoretical and operational/practical aspects of wasting and nutritional oedema management. Beyond wasting and nutritional oedema, Sanne is highly experienced within the field of public health nutrition, research design and methodologies, fatty acids, and macro- and micronutrients. Since 2020, Sanne has worked with the Multisectoral Food and Nutrition Security Project (MUSEFO) in Cambodia, which targets vulnerable populations, particularly women of reproductive age and young children. The project aims to make a significant contribution to the reduction of poverty and hunger. Sanne is currently an advisor for the project and oversees the implementation and operational matters. In recent years, Sanne has also worked as an independent consultant on various nutrition and health-related projects, given her nutrition and research expertise with various organizations.
