Soonman Kwon
Biography
Soonman Kwon is a professor (and former Dean) at the School of Public Health, Seoul National University. He is the Founding Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Health System and Financing. He was the President of the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI), MoHW and was the Chief of the Health Sector Group at the Asian Development Bank. He has served as the President of key academic societies of Korea, including the Health Economic Association, the Society of Health Policy and Management, the Association of Schools of Public Health, and the Society of Gerontology. Soonman is an Associate Editor (Asia Region Editor) of Health Policy (Elsevier) and International Journal of Health Economics and Management (Springer). He has held visiting positions at the Harvard School of Public Health, London School of Economics, University of Toronto, University of Tokyo, Peking University, and University of Bremen. He holds PhD in health economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (1993).
