Biography

Stéphane Ghozzi leads data science projects for public health intelligence at the WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence in Berlin. He specializes in developing and implementing statistical and machine-learning models, alongside data visualization, to support experts in responding to public health emergencies. Stéphane studied physics at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris, earning a Master’s in Theoretical Particle Physics and a PhD in Experimental Biophysics. At the University of Cologne, he focused on mathematical models of bacterial and viral evolution. Since joining the Robert Koch Institute in 2016, he has transitioned to public health, applying his expertise in data science to strengthen health intelligence systems.
