Susi Geiger

Biography

Susi Geiger is a Full Professor of Market Studies at University College Dublin and the Principal Investigator of a European Research Council Grant entitled “MISFIRES and market innovation”. Professor Geiger is a core member of Access to Medicines Ireland, a grassroots advocacy group concerned with health equity and access; in this capacity she has been active in national and international policy debates. Prof Geiger’s research focuses on the political economy of pharmaceutical markets, with a particular interest in issues of transparency, distributional justice, and intellectual property rights. Prof Geiger has held other prestigious grants in the past to carry out research on these topics and has published widely, including a volume entitled “Healthcare Activism: Markets, Morals, and the Collective Good” (Oxford University Press 2021). She has held Visiting Professor appointments at some of the most highly-ranked Universities globally, including the University of California Berkeley, Stockholm School of Economics, Ecole de Mines Paris, SciencesPo Paris, University of Auckland, and University of Vienna. She sits on six journal editorial boards and has held previous University senior management positions, including Vice-Dean for Research.
