Biography

Sussan Ley is the Minister for the Environment in Australia and has served as a member of Parliament since 2001. She previously served as a Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, Minister for Health and Minister for Sport. During her tenure as Minister for Health, she released Australia’s First National Antimicrobial Resistance Strategy, 2015-2019. She is currently part of a joint initiative in Australia combining health, agriculture and environment to develop a One Health Master Action Plan in support of Australia's National Antimicrobial Resistance Strategy - 2020 and Beyond. She is committed to addressing the significant threat that antimicrobial resistance poses across different sectors including the environment. She holds a Master of Taxation Law from the University of New South Wales and a Master of Accounting from Charles Stuart University.
