Ms Tamara van Ark

Ms. Van Ark is the Minister for Medical Care and Sport of The Netherlands.  She previously served as a State Secretary for Social Affairs and Employment and as a Member of Parliament.  She believes in the need for strong leadership and international cooperation in the fight against AMR and is committed to continuing the global leadership role that The Netherlands has played in this respect. On the national level, this includes multi-sectoral cooperation and stakeholder engagement on the One Health National Action Plan. On the global level, The Netherlands organized the first One Health ministerial conference on AMR to provide political support for the development of the AMR Global Action Plan of 2015 and the UN political resolution of 2016. In 2019, The Netherlands organized the second One Health ministerial conference. An important outcome of the conference was the launch of the Multi Partner Trust Found on AMR to support countries to design and implement National Action plans. Ms. Van Ark received her degree in Public Administration from Erasmus University of Rotterdam.
