Teeranart Jivapaisarnpong
Biography
Mrs. Teeranart Jivapaisarnpong was the former Director of Institute of Biological Products (IBP), Department of Medical Sciences, Ministry of Public health, which acting as the National Control Laboratory in Thailand, from 1999 to March 2015. She retired from the position as the Medical Scientist, Advisory Level (Biology) of Department of Medical Sciences, since 30th September 2017. She was the member of executive board of National Vaccine Institute (NVI) from December 2017 to December 2021.
At present, she is an advisor to the Biopharmaceutical Characterization Laboratory (BPCL) of National Biopharma Facilities (NBF), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Thailand. BPCL is the laboratory providing testing services of biopharmaceutical materials characterization to the researchers and manufacturers. She is also the advisor of IBP and a member of Drug Committee of Thai FDA.
She has experience for 43 years in the area of quality control of vaccines and other biological products, laboratory quality system, vaccine research and development, reference vaccine preparation, as well as lot release system for vaccines. She worked as WHO Short Term Consultant in NRA Strengthening Program in the position of Global Training Network Coordinator in Access to Technology Team at WHO-HQ in 2003. She has been working as a consultant and temporary advisor to support many WHO activities such as preparation of WHO Manuals/Guidelines, National Regulatory Authority (NRA) Assessment/ Evaluation of NRA using Global Benchmarking Tools, Vaccine prequalification scheme, WHO guideline implementation workshops and NRA strengthening programs. In addition, she has been a member of various WHO expert groups including WHO Product Development Group (2005-2012); WHO Expert Advisory Panel on Biological Standardization (2005 to present); SAGE Working Group on Pertussis (2013-2015); and WHO Expert Committee on Biological Standardization (2006 to present).
