Biography

Temidayo Odebunmi is a medical practitioner and policy maker with interest and experience in the design and implementation of nutrition programmes in low-resource settings, the development of national policies related to the care and provision of services for infants and children with malnutrition and wasting in low-resource settings as well as delivery of quality nutrition health services for infants and young children.

She is currently the Head of the Infant and Young Child Feeding Branch of the Federal Ministry of Health in Nigeria. She has also contributed to the review and development of key nutrition documents, some of which include the National Guidelines on Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition, National Policy on Maternal Infant and Young Child Nutrition, National Guidelines for Baby Friendly Initiatives in Nigeria and National Guidelines on Micronutrient Deficiency Control in Nigeria.

She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from Igbinedion University Okada, Edo State, Nigeria in 2010. Thereafter, she completed her one-year internship at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Nigeria. She developed a passion for ensuring adequate nutrition in low-resource settings while working at the Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Lokoja and thereafter at the Mother and Child Hospital, Ondo town, Ondo State, Nigeria.
