Tim Sladden
Biography
Tim Sladden is a public health professional (MPH, MSc), with forty years work experience in communicable disease research, surveillance, prevention and response, and promotion of good health and wellbeing. For the past fifteen years, Tim has worked with UNFPA as an HIV and Sexual Health Adviser, including in Asia and the Pacific, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and globally in UNFPA HQ as HIV & Key populations, and HIV/SRHR Adviser.
Previously Tim has worked on child health, as well as communicable and non-communicable diseases within academic institutions and public health services in the UK and Australia. From 2004–2006, Tim managed a Pacific regional HIV/STI surveillance programme, administered from the Secretariat of the Pacific Community in New Caledonia. He has been involved in research and surveillance of STIs and blood borne viruses, and more recently promotion of sexual health and wellbeing as part of broader sexual and reproductive health and rights throughout the life course.
