Vitor Ido

Biography

Vitor Ido is Professor of Commercial Law of the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. He holds a PhD from the same institution. A jurist and anthropologist by training, he has wide experience advising policymakers and negotiators in intellectual property and global health matters, with a focus on the global south and development issues. His research interests also include digital health and technological dependency, traditional knowledge and biodiversity applied to global health, and antitrust policy in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. Prior to joining academia, he was a researcher in the Health, Intellectual Property and Biodiversity programme of the South Centre (Geneva).
