Harmonizing global approaches to chemical risk assessment

WHO leads projects to harmonize approaches to the assessment of risk from exposure to chemicals. The goal of these projects is to globally harmonize approaches to risk assessment by increasing understanding and developing basic principles and guidance on specific chemical risk assessment issues. Harmonization enables efficient use of resources and consistency among assessments.

Tools and methodologies are published as Environmental Health Criteria, in guidance documents published in the Harmonization Project series or as published journal articles in the scientific literature.
