Highlights

World Health Organization (WHO) has recently supported a series of training workshops on Health Inter Network Access to Research Initiative, also known as HINARI organized at the and Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC). Around 100 librarians from professional schools (medicine, nursing, public health, and dentistry), universities, research institutes, teaching hospitals, government offices and national medical libraries of Bangladesh participated in the training in 5 batches.

HINARI aims at providing free or low cost access to scientific information in more low- and middle-income countries. The provision of high-quality library services and resources in medical schools and institutions is a key component to support the work of researchers, doctors and students in different health areas. The use of different online software for the purpose of literature review in research often results in producing huge volume of information which could be both time consuming and irrelevant. HINARI helps to search the appropriate information/literatures from various scientific journals, e-books and relevant documents.

It is expected that due to these trainings the participants can provide quality service to the students, researchers and doctors of their respective organizations.
