Responding to the humanitarian crises in Yemen

Overview

In one of the world’s worst humanitarian crisis, 18 million people in Yemen were in need of essential life-saving services. The cholera outbreak was one of the world’s largest outbreaks in the past 50 years. Thanks to the generous funding by China Aid, WHO and the Yemeni Ministry of Public Health and Population were able to provide:

 1.2 million people
with prevention and cholera care services in partnership with a Yemeni NGO, working through nine Diarrhea Treatment Centers and 54 Oral Rehydration Centers in four different cities.

 500 healthcare workers
from the Ministry of Public Health were trained on cholera treatment.
