Rationale:
The share of revenues from domestic private sources spent on health as percentage of current health expenditure indicates how much is funded domestically by the private sector. Domestic private health expenditure sources include domestic revenues from households, corporations and non-profit organizations. Such expenditures can be either prepaid (such as compulsory and voluntary prepayments to private insurance) or paid directly out-of-pocket by households to healthcare providers. This indicator describes the role of the private domestic sources in funding healthcare relative to government or external sources.
