Rationale:
This indicator calculates the current health expenditure from private domestic sources spent per person in USD currency. Private domestic sources include domestic revenues from households, corporations and non-profit organizations. Such expenditures can be either prepaid (such as compulsory and voluntary prepayments to private insurance) or paid directly out-of-pocket by households to health care providers. This indicator describes the size of the private domestic health expenditure in relation to the population size facilitating international comparison.
