Occupational health and safety for health workers, national policy instruments, existence
Topic:
Risk factors
Health workforce
Rationale:
In 2022, the World Health Assembly adopted resolution WHA74.14 on protecting, safeguarding, and investing in the health and care workforce (https://apps.who.int/gb/ebwha/pdf_files/WHA74/A74_ACONF6-en.pdf), urging Member States to take necessary steps to protect health and care workers at all levels. WHO and ILO have developed guidance (https://www.who.int/publications/i/item/9789240044548) to support countries in developing and implementing occupational health and safety programmes for health workers at national, subnational, and health facility levels. This indicator serves as a valuable tool for assessing global progress in promoting healthier and safer working environments for health workers, benefiting employers, policymakers, researchers, and health workers themselves.
Definition:

Options include: "Yes - national policy instruments exist and has been approved and published"; "Yes, partially - national policy instruments exist but it has not yet been approved and published"; "No - there is no policy instrument"; “Unknown/No information”
