The creation and implementation of means to deliver multisectoral care, support and services for carers will help to meet the needs of carers, and prevent a decline in their physical and mental health and social well-being.
Definition:
Existence of a programme which is available, accessible and providing currently implemented services to support carers of people with dementia. These services include information, training programmes, respite services and other resources tailored to the needs of carers in order to improve knowledge and caregiving skills to enable people with dementia to live in the community and to prevent stress and health problems for their carers
