Definition:
A national law bans the promotion of corporate social responsibility activities by tobacco companies themselves. Corporate social responsibility activities of tobacco companies which are promoted by other entities are reported under a different indicator. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a concept whereby companies cultivate a perception of positive impact on social and environmental concerns in the community through socially responsible practices or activities related to the environment, consumers, employees, communities, stakeholders or other elements of the public sphere. Tobacco companies are any companies that produce and/or market branded tobacco products, such as tobacco product manufacturers, wholesale distributors and importers of tobacco products.
