The Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for One Health is the principal advisory group to the WHO Regional Office for Europe (WHO/Europe) on One Health.
The TAG has the mandate of advising the WHO/Europe and the WHO/Europe Regional Director on the operationalization of One Health in line with the recommendations highlighted in the Report by the Pan-European Commission on Health and Sustainable Development, EPW and relevant regional strategic documents.
The Technical Advisory Group (the “TAG”) acts as an advisory body to WHO/Europe in this field.
Functions
In its capacity as an advisory body to WHO/Europe and the WHO/Europe Regional Director, the TAG has the following functions:
- To review progress, evaluate and provide guidance on the implementation of the recommendations put forward by The Pan-European Commission on Health and Sustainable Development to operationalize One Health in the Region consistent with the EPW and relevant WHO regional strategies, frameworks, and action plans;
- To support the identification of major strategic, scientific, structural, and technical challenges and opportunities to be addressed by WHO/Europe in advancing One Health;
- To identify priority research questions and innovative approaches to operationalize One Health; To review and advise WHO/Europe on engagement in partnerships to enhance impact at country level.
