Healthy Cities Annual Business Meeting and Technical Conference

22 – 24 November 2022
UN City, Copenhagen, Denmark
The WHO European Healthy Cities Network was launched in 1988 as a political, crosscutting and intersectoral initiative and movement that directly collaborates with cities across the WHO European Region. It is a crucial platform for bringing about change and achieving improved health, well-being and equitable and sustainable development in cities across the Region and globally.

The Healthy Cities Annual Business Meeting and Technical Conference aims to present the opportunity to learn from the work of healthy cities across the European Region and beyond. It attracts politicians and key decision-makers from within cities, as well as technical experts.

The 2022 Conference will be an opportunity for WHO European Network members to demonstrate how they are leading by example, both regionally and globally. The WHO European Network welcomes the call to action of the Pan-European Commission on Health and Sustainable Development. The 2022 Conference will take forward the Commission’s recommendation to operationalize the One Health approach at the local level and to intensify the conversation about the interaction between human, animal and environmental health in the context of Phase VII of the WHO European Network and the six Ps: People, Place, Participation, Peace, Prosperity and Planet. The 2022 Conference themes also build on the Geneva Charter for Well-being adopted in December 2021, which highlights the need for global commitments to achieve equitable health and social outcomes now and for future generations without destroying the health of our planet.

The 2022 conference theme is: Healthy Cities Leading by Example: One Planet, One People, One Health

City and national network coordinators and their delegations are invited to attend this hybrid Conference either physically or virtually. The WHO European Network wants to enable all members of the Network to share their stories, and by creating a hybrid conference, be as inclusive as possible.

More information about speakers, schedule and registration will be available soon.
