Strengthening the capabilities of national tuberculosis (TB) programme managers is one of WHO’s core activities to ensure healthy lives and well-being for all, recognizing that health sector capacity-building helps to address health issues.
On 21–23 February, the WHO Country Office in Turkmenistan will gather the heads of the TB clinics of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry for a training course in Ashgabat, led by TB experts from WHO/Europe and the Ministry.
The 3-day course will focus on the latest WHO recommendations as well as trends and updates in laboratory diagnosis, genomic sequencing, clinical protocols, treatment regimens and monitoring. Participants will also have an opportunity to learn about the patient-centred model of TB care, systematic screening of TB and new approaches in technical assistance.
