It can be a challenging time for advocates of person-centred primary health care (PHC): expectations regarding its potential impact and effective reach are higher than ever. In a new “Let’s Talk PHC” episode, we will navigate the complexities of person-centred care by exploring best practices and actionable strategies, including the empowerment of health-care professionals.

In recent years, a new wave of humanism has permeated the public debate about establishing accessible, efficient and high-quality health-care systems. The person-centred approach has assumed a pivotal role in health-care service design and delivery, as respect for the individual needs of citizens and patients has emerged as a foundational value and source of inspiration.

However, the concept is so broad that its translation into real-life scenarios can seem vague. How likely are we to successfully move from theory to practise? How can we establish a common conceptual framework while developing context-specific applications? What are the implications for PHC?

The upcoming episode will provide a distinctive viewpoint on several implications of person-centred care models, delving into their diverse facets and the ongoing discourse surrounding their implementation.
