With just 13 weeks until the Fourth High-Level Meeting of the United Nations General Assembly on the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases and Promotion of Mental Health and Well-being, WHO/Europe invites you to a webinar launching a key report on the status of efforts to achieve noncommunicable disease (NCD) commitments and reduce premature mortality.
The new report on NCDs in the WHO European Region provides a sobering picture but also offers insights and identifies opportunities. While some progress has been made, momentum was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Region is off track to meet key global targets for 2025 and 2030.
The webinar will also spotlight:
- a synthesis of over 1200 stakeholder inputs, reflecting the voices and priorities of Member States’ representatives, health and care providers, public health professionals, youth advocates and people with lived experience – calling for bolder political commitment and inclusive, multisectoral action on NCDs and mental health; and
- a practical 2-page guide for policy-makers on the 25 NCD “quick buys” – interventions that can yield measurable public health impact within 5 years.
Join us on 27 June to explore how data, dialogue and decisive action can help reduce premature and avoidable mortality – and build a more resilient future for health in the European Region.

On 24 June, the time of the webinar was changed from 10:30am CEST to 10:00am CEST.
