Special Consultation with the Pan-European Commission on Climate and Health

3 December 2025 09:00 – 12:00 CET
Virtual / Zoom

Voices and experiences of European cities and regions on climate and health

To advance the work of the Pan-European Commission on Climate and Health, a virtual consultation will bring together cities, regions and their networks from across the WHO European Region. The event will gather local insights, priorities and practical experiences at the intersection of climate and health. It will address key challenges, including gaps in evidence-to-action, governance, empowerment, capacities and resources, and showcase innovative practices and solutions developed by cities and regions that can be scaled or adapted across the Region. It will also highlight how cities and regions are working together through networks and platforms to enhance their voices and political weight, learn from each other and join forces to address shared challenges. By elevating local perspectives, the consultation will help shape regional and national policy directions and strengthen alignment between local realities and broader climate-health strategies.

Pan-European Commission on Climate and Health

The Pan-European Commission on Climate and Health is an independent advisory group convened by WHO/Europe in June 2025 to raise the political profile, awareness of and support for stronger action to address the health impacts of climate change. Through a series of 3 hearings and 2 special consultations with leading experts in the areas of climate change and health, the Commission will review evidence and experiences to develop final recommendations for accelerated health and climate action, which will be presented during the World Health Assembly in May 2026.
